Islands and Highlands:
Introducing the Art of Val Russell
OPENING RECEPTION
Thursday, April 21, 2005
7-10 p.m.
Val Russell lives a simple existence in the highlands of Jamaica, yet the complexity and beauty of his work is astounding.
He paints vivid snapshots of life seen through a kaleidoscope of magically fused color. Whether he is depicting
daily chores, the fire and brimstone minister, or the neighborhood in which he lives, he paints life as it happens. And even
with the great poverty that surrounds him, his art reflects only beauty.
Val Russell is an unknown self-taught artist and Orange Hill is proud to be the first gallery in the US to show his work.
Come and experience the vision of Val Russell.
